Bus
Guaguas, or buses, provide cheap transportation along the coastal road during the day but not at night. To catch a bus, simply stand on the side of the road in the direction you are headed to hail one of these guaguas. Be sure to let the driver know the direction you are headed and they will let you know if you are getting on the correct bus. Most rides are about $1.50 (USD) but may cost more depending on how far you are going.
Taxi
Visitors to the Punta Cana, Bávaro Beach region can easily arrange taxi service through their hotels. Guaguas, or buses, provide cheap transportation along the coastal road during the day but not at night. Car rental companies are also available nearby.
Airport
For your vacation in Punta Cana, you will arrive at the Aeropuerto Internacional Punta Cana (Punta Cana International Airport) located less than 30 minutes from the Barceló Resorts in Punta Cana. Guests can take hotel shuttles, rent a car or catch a taxi, which usually costs less than $30 USD. Facilities include shops, snack bars, restaurants and bar, duty-free shopping and ATMs. Departure tax for stays up to 2 weeks is $20 USD and $25USD for stays longer than 2 weeks.
